Mid Canterbury liquor purchase checks

September 2, 2013 | By More

Two licensed premises sold alcohol to under-age customers during a police controlled purchase operation on 11 liquor outlets in Mid Canterbury on Saturday August 31.

Ashburton police said that although the overall results were very encouraging, it was disappointing that two outlets had failed.

As part of these police and Public Health checks, volunteers aged under 18 go into bottle stores and supermarkets and try to buy alcohol.
