Two remanded in custody on armed robbery charges

Court House-Sept-2013-06Two men have been charged with aggravated robbery following an incident at the Brickworks Restaurant and Bar in the early hours of Sunday morning.

At Christchurch District Court, Wesley Winfield Barnett, 43, and Charles Thomas Shelford, 63, made no application for bail, and were remanded in custody by Judge Michael Crosbie to April 28.

Police say three men were arrested over the gunpoint robbery of the Christchurch bar, but the third one, aged 43, will appear later on a charge of receiving.
