Receiving charges laid in boat burglary case

July 3, 2014 | By More

Court House-general 3Three fresh charges of receiving stolen property have been laid against a man who is already in custody on six charges of burgling boats in Picton.

Sean Patrick Clark, 42, of Lyttelton, appeared in the Christchurch District Court by video-link from prison where he is being held on remand.

At his last appearance, police said more charges were to be laid, and they were before the court today.

In total, Clark now faces a total of 17 charges: possession of tools for burglary, nine burglaries, two thefts, unlawful possession of a firearm, theft of a vehicle, and three of receiving stolen property.

Because new charges had been laid, Judge Tony Couch remanded Clark in custody for another week to a video-link appearance on July 10 when he may make application for release on bail.

He has entered no pleas.
