Court House-Sept-2013-08Bail was granted to a 23-year-old New Plymouth man arrested on charges of stealing a car, driving dangerously, and failing to stop for police in an incident that ended at Tower Junction on Tuesday.

Jamyn David Reiri was also charged with stealing petrol, possession of a knife, and driving while forbidden.

The police opposed his bail in the Christchurch District Court yesterday, but Judge Tony Couch remanded him on bail to March 12 with conditions including reporting to a police station twice a week, and not being allowed to drive.

The police followed the stolen car when the alleged chase occurred and it ended at the Tower Junction shopping centre.
