Driver at court over cycle death

March 9, 2015 | By More

Bicycle-wheel-02A truck driver charged over the death of a cyclist in a crash on Carmen Road, Hornby, last September, has been granted a registrar’s remand at the Christchurch District Court.

David Peter Connell, 50, of Spreydon, entered no plea to the charge of careless driving causing death. The registrar’s remand meant he did not need to appear in court.

Connell is charged with causing the death of Ming-Chih Hsieh.

He was granted the remand to March 23 on bail to apply for legal aid.
