Burwood underwear burglaries not denied

Court House-general1A 16-year-old boy has not denied seven burglary charges alleging he stole women’s underwear from washing lines and homes in the Burwood area.

The boy appeared before Judge Jane McMeeken in the Christchurch Youth Court today and was further remanded on bail to August 18. He continues to deny one charge of burglary.

Police said earlier the burglaries related to several different homes in Burwood from December to June.

Siobhan McNulty appeared as Youth Advocate for the boy.

Details about the case cannot be published because of restrictions that apply to reporting of Youth Court appearances.
