Matthew Joshua Mulvey, 34, Albert Hollis Mauheni, 33, August Keefe, 56, Matthew James Rowe, 40, Leon Delshannon Turner, 40, Anthony Kevin Peters, 41, Peter Damian Gilbert, 45, and Earl Fraser Waitokia, 38, all pleaded not guilty and were remanded in custody.

The tenth man, Dylan Raymond Shannon Corbin, 26, pleaded not guilty last week.

All men were remanded to October 19 for a Crown case review hearing, and the case is heading for a jury trial.

The charges relate to an alleged kidnapping, and causing grievous bodily harm, to a 34-year-old Dallington man, Dawson Reihana.

Armed Offender Squad officers searched properties in Ajax Street, Shirley, and Bowenvale Avenue, Cashmere, before the arrests.

Reihana was badly injured and hospitalised after the bashing.
