Police investigate bus driver robbery

Bus stopCanterbury Police are investigating the knife-point robbery of a bus driver at Broadhaven Park in Parklands about 7.15pm  on Saturday January 9.

Constable Justin Robbins said a bus driver was approached outside the park’s toilet block by two men police understand were armed with a knife.  “They fled the scene in a white vehicle travelling east along Ascot Drive with a number of coins from the driver’s cash box and the driver’s wallet and personal cell phone.”

The two men are described as European in their late teens or early 20s and of slim build.

One had short brown hair and was wearing a blue checked shirt and blue jeans, the other had short black hair and was wearing a black Adidas top and black tracksuit pants.

Police urge anyone who was in the area and saw anything or can provide any information to assist the investigation to contact the Metro Crime Team by calling Christchurch Central Police Station on 363 7400.
