A teenager is denying the pellet-gun street robbery of four people.
Chinyanta Mfwembe Chinyanta entered the not guilty plea before a registrar at the Christchurch District Court today.
He was remanded on continued bail for a Crown case review hearing on May 1.
The Sydenham 17-year-old is charged with robbing four people early on January 23, while armed with a pellet-gun.
Police allege he was one of two youths who got out of a car that pulled to a stop ahead of four people walking in Fairview Avenue in Somerfield about 12.30am.
They say the group – a woman and three men – were robbed of cellphones and a speaker.
The other youth charged is aged 15 and is being dealt with in the Youth Court.
