A 30-year-old Cashmere man has admitted 129 charges involving body building drugs and now faces a likely jail term.

Christchurch District Court Judge David Saunders agreed to get a report on Joshua Francis Townshend’s suitability for a home detention sentence in case it could be considered.

Townshend’s offending in 2014 and 2015 is set out in an 86-page summary of facts.

He originally faced 292 charges and he had pleaded not guilty, but Crown prosecutor Karyn South told a case review hearing today that the charge list had been amended and 129 charges remained.

Townshend then pleaded guilty to the Medicines Act charges relating to sales of body building drugs.

Townshend was remanded on bail for sentencing on May 10.
