A man alleged to have put the health of three men in danger by having unprotected sex was re-admitted to bail today in the Christchurch District Court.
Johnny Lachlan Benjamin Lumsden, a 26-year-old nurse aid, had been on bail but was re-arrested after an alleged breach. He was appearing in the Christchurch court by video-link from the North Island.
Lumsden was reported as being HIV-positive. It is alleged he committed the three nuisance criminal offences in Christchurch from August to October.
He is also charged with supplying the class A drug methamphetamine, breach of bail, and possession of utensils for methamphetamine. He pleaded guilty to the utensils charge today.
Judge David Saunders remanded Lumsden on bail with conditions that he not associate with police witnesses, not contact complainants, not use social media including Grindr and Facebook, not apply for travel documents, and not come to Christchurch.
Lumsden will appear for a case review hearing on his not guilty pleas on May 19.
