Seven face rioting charges

Seven men charged with rioting outside Burger King in Belfast where they allegedly attacked a person were remanded to appear in the Christchurch District Court on December 7.

Avonside man Carlin Kofoed, 21, was charged with rioting, and possession of a knife.

Liam Johnson, a 20-year-old labourer from Addington was charged with rioting, possession of cannabis, and possession of a needle.

Rota Toi Beattie, 43, from Ouruhia, Cameron Tamati, 33, and Nephi Zinzan Tamati, 28, from Avonside, Fairlane Wiringi, 20, from Parklands, and Joseph Robert Tumene Wiringi, 55, from Sheffield were all charged with rioting.

Police said there were a large number of witnesses to the alleged assault on November 12, about 5.15pm.

Judge Tony Couch and the court registrar remanded the group on bail to December 7.
