Halswell targeted in crime spree
District Court sentencing at 11.45am for David Ronald Cribb, a 24-year-old painter from Halswell, who admitted 43 charges on February 21, 2017. He admitted to having a $100-a-day drugs habit, and mainly stole from cars left parked in driveways at night, targeting the suburb of Halswell where he lived. Thousands of dollars worth of property was involved, much of it sold to second-hand stores by Cribb and his associates. He originally faced more than 90 charges involving about $140,000 of property but the rest were withdrawn by police when he pleaded guilty.
