Remand in custody on drugs-for-supply charges
No bail was sought for a Rangiora man charged with possession of drugs for supply, when he appeared in the Christchurch District Court.
John Raymond Wanhalla, a 29-year-old wool scourer, was remanded in custody until Friday and Judge John Strettell was told that a bail application might be made then.
Wanhalla faces five charges: possession of cannabis, ecstasy, and methamphetamine for supply, possession of cannabis oil, and possession of a knife in a public place – Rangiora’s High Street – without reasonable excuse.
No pleas were entered. Wanhalla was arrested at Rangiora yesterday.
