Papanui Police signA man charged with committing seven Bishopdale burglaries was denied bail in the Christchurch District Court today.

Police allege Tamaroa Jones, a 21-year-old labourer, burgled seven homes between September 13 and 26.

Police opposed bail, and said the bail address offered was not appropriate.

Defence counsel Paul Norcross said Jones had recently moved from the North Island to work in Christchurch and was employed full time.

Judge Roy Wade said Jones had leave to apply for bail when a suitable address was found, and remanded him in custody to October 8.
