Court House-general2The partner of murdered Rangiora man Tony John Lochhead has been recalled to prison and given extra jail time after admitting charges of possessing morphine, and supplying the class B drug.

Forty-year-old Angela Georgina Nora Manning, also known as Hooker, was given another 18 months on her current jail term at her sentencing in the Christchurch District Court.

Defence counsel Rupert Glover said she had been selling the morphine over a six week period, but the offending was relatively low level.

He said she was involved in a rehabilitation programme, and was anxious to get out of prison.

Judge Gary MacAskill said Manning was caught with 17 tablets on her, and they had a street value of about $1000.

Her cell phone texts showed she sold in 25 different locations, but the majority went to one customer.

He said Manning had an extensive offending record, but it did not involve drugs. It was a small commercial operation. He told the court that her partner had since been murdered.

Manning was crying as she was led away by prison guards.

Two men have been charged with the murder of Mr Lochhead, and injuring his brother, Peter Graham Lochhead, with intent to facilitate an aggravated robbery. They both have name suppression and have today pleaded not guilty ahead of a trial set for next September.
