Murder trial delayed by anniversary of death

High Court-panoply1A murder trial has been delayed by one day so that it does not begin on the one-year anniversary of the alleged victim’s death.

The High Court at Christchurch has granted the delay from February 10, for the trial to start on Tuesday February 11 for Lucille Sarah Scollay.

The 45-year-old woman, employed as a cleaner, is charged with the murder of her husband, 48-year-old Guy Christian Scollay, at a St Albans house.

Defence counsel Pip Hall, QC, told Justice Graham Panckhurst at a pre-trial conference today that the trial was expected to take three days.
