Man denies dog attack charge
A dog owner is pleading not guilty to a charge of owning dogs which attacked and injured an eight-year-old boy.
Ralph Neville Sparks, a 44-year-old painter from Linwood, indicated the not guilty plea before a registrar at the Christchurch District Court today.
He was remanded on bail to a case review hearing on December 9 on the charge of owning dogs which caused serious injury.
The two dogs – both rottweilers – are alleged to have turned on Sparks’ partner’s son when the boy took them for a walk on Linfield Park in Bromley on August 17. The dogs have since been euthanased.
