Court appearance over alleged knife assault
A man arrested after allegedly using a knife in an assault on a young woman has been remanded into the care of the Hillmorton Hospital.
Navarone Dale-Ray Love, an 18-year-old fisheries worker, was charged with assault using a knife as a weapon after an incident on an Oxford, North Canterbury, farm.
The 17-year-old victim suffered minor injuries, and Love was located arrested without incident a few kilometres away.
Judge Tony Couch remanded Love to the hospital, and he will appear at Christchurch District Court again on March 3.
