All evidence completed in Mellory Manning murder trial
Murder accused Mauha Huatahi Fawcett has chosen not to give evidence at his High Court trial and the court has now heard all the evidence that will be presented in the case.
Fawcett, 26, told the court the defence would also call no other evidence, after the Crown finished presentation of its case at the end of the morning session today.
It means the Crown will present its closing arguments to the jury from 10am tomorrow, followed by the defence.
Justice David Gendall will sum up for the jury on Thursday, before the jury members retire to consider their verdict on the charge of murding Christchurch sex worker Mellory Manning, 27, on December 18, 2008.
Today was the 17th day of the trial. The Crown has called evidence from more than 100 witnesses in a trial where Fawcett has been defending himself with the help of a court-appointed legal adviser, amicus curiae Craig Ruane.
