Pair charged with sex offending against young girl
A man and a woman have been jointly charged with sex offences involving a young girl.
The middle-aged man and 18-year-old woman were granted continued name suppression at the request of their defence counsel when they appeared before Judge Jane Farish in the Christchurch District Court today.
They have entered not guilty pleas to 10 charges they each face, and were remanded on bail to a case review hearing on May 5.
They face eight charges of doing an indecent act on a girl aged under 12, and one charge of indecently assaulting a girl.
At the request of counsel Kerryn Beaton and Tom Stevens, all details of the 10th charge were suppressed until the charge is finally disposed of, when suppression can be re-argued.
