It will resume its deliberations in the High Court at Christchurch from 9.30am on Tuesday.

The jury members decided at 5pm to bring the day to a close. The day had begun with Justice David Gendall’s summing up at 10am, in the four-week trial of 26-year-old Mauha Huatahi Fawcett, who denies the murder of sex worker Ngatai Lynette Manning, 27, also known as Mellory, in December 2008.

They had begun their deliberations about 12.30pm.
