Court House-Sept-2013-06Three men charged over a big street brawl in Dallington last weekend were remanded without plea by registrars at the Christchurch Court House yesterday.

The remands at the court office meant the three did not need to appear before a judge. They were all remanded on bail to appear again on November 27, so that they could get legal advice.

They were arrested on Saturday after what the police described as an alcohol-fuelled clash between feuding residents about 10pm. Police alleged an array of objects was used as weapons in the clash involving members of a street gang.

Tabekka Whaanga, 22, a gardener, is charged with assaulting a man with intent to injure, and assaulting a second man using pot plants and a PVC pipe as a weapon.

Caleb Whaanga, a 17-year-old gardener, is charged with assaulting persons unknown using a stick as a weapon.

Cameron Tony Meadows, 20, of Phillipstown, is charged with assaulting one of the alleged victims of Tabekka Whaanga, using a pot plant as a weapon.
