Hagley Park-04An Ilam student accused of streaking across the pitch at the England-Scotland World Cup cricket match on Monday has been granted a registrar’s remand at the Christchurch District Court.

Fergus Alexander Watts, 21, has entered no plea to the charge under the Major Events Management Act, of going onto the playing surface at a major sporting event, without authority.

He did not appear in court, but was granted a registrar’s remand to obtain legal advice and appear at court on March 5.

Police allege that the streak took place towards the end of the match at the Hagley Oval.
