Woman accused of lingering at park
A 60-year-old Christchurch woman has been arrested for allegedly breaching a term of her intensive supervision by lingering around a boy in a park.
Police opposed bail when Margaret Mabel Dodds, a resident of the Seager Clinic at Princess Margaret Hospital, appeared at the Christchurch District Court today, even though she had already been granted police bail and was appearing on summons for an alleged incident on August 19.
Defence counsel Paul Johnson said Dodds would deny the charge and Judge Tony Couch remanded her for a case review hearing on October 12.
The charge states that she breached a term of her two-year sentence of intensive supervision imposed in January by lingering around a boy aged under 16 in Bradford Park, Sydenham.
Judge Couch decided to grant bail and imposed only one bail condition – that she continue to live at the Seager Clinic.
