Cheeseburger taken in robbery, police allege
Robberies of a series of items including a cheeseburger were alleged against an 18-year-old Linwood youth who was refused bail at the Christchurch District Court today.
Liam John McNeil, a labourer, was remanded in custody without plea to September 28, when Judge Gary McAskill suggested that an application for electronically monitored bail might be considered.
McNeil is charged with a series of offences on Saturday: stealing a wine bottle from a man, stealing a cellphone from a woman, robbing a cellphone from a man, and robbing three people of a cellphone, bottle of wine, cheeseburger and a lighter, while armed with an offensive weapon – a wine bottle.
