Suppression continues in murder case
Interim suppression continues for the man accused of the murder of 14-month-old Ihaka Paora Braxton Stokes after a hearing in the High Court at Christchurch.
Justice Paul Heath heard submissions but delayed his decision to hear further submissions after a Court of Appeal decision on a case with similar circumstances is released next week.
The 22-year-old from Redwood has entered not guilty pleas to the charges of assaulting the toddler on July 2 and murdering him on July 3.
The man has been granted bail to live at an address outside Christchurch under a 24-hour-a-day curfew.
Details of the discussion today were suppressed by Justice Heath.
