A man waiting in custody to appear at the Court House today caused a glitch when he damaged the door of the holding cell.

The problems arose with repeated crashing noises and shouting from the holding cell next to the main list court after the session began at 10am.

When the next case was called, there was a delay, until a Court Escort officer told Judge Noel Walsh: “They have damaged the door. We can’t undo the door in there.”

The court got on with its business by calling cases where people were not being held in custody until the door problem could be fixed.
