Court House-07Charges of endangering the health of two children by manufacturing methamphetamine have been laid against a man arrested after a raid at a Linwood property on December 3.

The Fire Service was called in to decontaminate people at the address after the raid on a property in McGregors Road.

Gary Mark De Latour, 48, was arrested during the raid and charged with three firearms offences — possession of firearms, and possession of shotgun shells – but he now faces a total of 13 charges after more were laid at the Christchurch District Court yesterday.

De Latour now faces new charges of three charges of having equipment for the manufacture of the class A drug, pure methamphetamine, or P, possession of methamphetamine, supplying methamphetamine, and two further charges of possession of firearms and shotgun shells.

He also faces two new charges alleging manufacture of methamphetamine in a clandestine lab in McGregors Road “which was likely to cause adverse effects to the health of two people aged under 18, by exposure to toxic fumes, and dangerous and highly flammable chemicals”.

Judge Brian Callaghan remanded De Latour in custody for an electronically monitored bail application on February 1.
