RiccartonA Hornby man is denying three charges relating to an alleged road-rage incident in Riccarton Road last month.

Sione Toutaiolepo, 46, entered the not guilty pleas before a registrar at the Christchurch District Court today and was remanded on bail to a case review hearing on April 18.

He denies two charges of assaulting a truck driver using a vehicle as a weapon, and intentionally destroying a vehicle window belonging to the truck driver.

The charges arise from an incident between the driver of a van – alleged to be Toutaiolepo – and the truck driver about 8.40am on January 14, near the Riccarton Road-Clarence Street intersection.

Police said the truck driver was left with minor inuries to his knees after the incident.
