Judge needles accused drug user
Quote of the Week: “It’s ironic for her to claim she doesn’t like needles.”
Christchurch District Court Judge Raoul Neave comments on a woman who had refused a blood test at the police station after being stopped for drug-impaired driving, because she said she did not like needles.
The woman had been stopped at a fast-food drive-through in Linwood after some bad driving.
She was found with methamphetamine, a meth pipe, and she said she had smoked cannabis and taken methadone earlier in the day.
