Two women in custody for an alleged burglary of a Sumner home booked on an accommodation website have had five new burglary charges laid in the Christchurch District Court.
Judge Tony Couch remanded Terangimarie O-Te-Arohunui Jury, 35, of Burnside, in custody until for a bail application, and Samadhi Kalita Lucas, 30, of Woolston, was remanded in custody for an electronically monitored bail application on July 16.
The two are charged with taking everything from the homes, including lounge suites, bedding, and whiteware between April 23 and June 6, 2018.
Police said the burglars used stolen credit cards to book the homes listed on accommodation websites throughout Christchurch, and today’s charges are for homes on Picton Avenue, Aotea Terrace, Charlesworth Street, Barbadoes Street, and Queen’s Avenue, in April and May.
Jury is also charged with assaulting a man to get away after the Head Street, Sumner, burglary on June 6.
No pleas have been entered.
