A Christchurch pre-school teacher in his 60s has pleaded not guilty to 18 child sex abuse charges in the Christchurch District Court.
The man was remanded by Judge Tony Couch to a Crown case review hearing on November 7 after he elected trial by jury on all charges.
The man cannot be named at present for legal reasons.
The man, who is currently not working, faces charges of indecently assaulting a girl aged under 12, and charges of sexual violation of the same girl, including a rape charge. Some alleged offending dates back 14 years.
He is charged with indecently assaulting and sexually violating another alleged victim between 2013 and this year.
The man remains on bail. His bail includes a condition that he not travel nor apply for travel documents.
