Murder trial jury to continue deliberations

After retiring all afternoon, the jury considering its verdicts in the trial of two men charged with the murder of Bradley Alan Lomax has been sent home overnight and will continue its deliberations on Wednesday.

The jury retired at 12.30pm when Justice Cameron Mander competed his summing up in the High Court at Christchurch on the 11th day of the trial.

They left the court at 5.30pm and decided they would return to the jury room at 10am on Wednesday.

On trial are Kasha William Gosset, 37, of Oxford, and Cody Derek Martin, a 31-year-old drainlayer from Mairehau, who each deny the murder charge and allege the other fired the shots that killed Lomax at the Waimakariri Riverbed in September 2017.
