A man shot in an alleged shoot-out with the police in February is denying an attempted murder charge.
Tolu Maanaiama, 33, entered not guilty pleas before Justice Gerald Nation in the High Court at Christchurch today.
His trial has been set to start on October 14, and is expected to last one week.
Justice Nation remanded him for a pre-trial call-over on July 5, and reserved his decision on an application for his release on electronically monitored bail.
Maanaiama was shot on February 26 during an incident in Evelyn Couzins Avenue in the Christchurch suburb of Richmond.
He was sitting in a wheelchair when he appeared at court today by video-link from the prison.
Maanaiama has denied a charge relating to an incident on February 23 of assaulting a member of the police by using a vehicle as a weapon.
He also denied charges relating to the February 26 incident, of presenting a firearm at a policeman at the Shirley Road-Marshland Road intersection, attempted murder of police officers, and using a firearm against police in Evelyn Couzins Avenue.
