A 31-year-old Redwood man has denied a series of robberies in Christchurch through June, in the Christchurch District Court today.
Lennon Donald Auckram pleaded not guilty to 17 charges, including robberies of the KFC at the Christchurch Airport while armed with a metal bar, robbery of the Little Brown Jug bar in Wairakei Road, assault using a bat as a weapon, and demanding guns from a woman with intent to steal them.
He also faced earlier charges of burglary while armed with a spade at Swannanoa, unlawfully taking and interfering with cars, dangerous driving, assaulting police using a car as a weapon, intentional damage of a window, and two charges of failing to stop for police.
Defence counsel Joshua Lucas said Auckram wanted a trial by jury, but did not want to apply for bail.
Judge Kevin Phillips remanded Auckram in custody to a Crown case review hearing on September 18.
