High Court jury trials are usually scheduled for the two jury courts on level four of the Court House. District Court jury trials are held in the courts on level two.

Double rape sentencing

March 31

Sentencing in the Christchurch District Court at 10am, before Judge Jane Farish, for two men convicted at trial of the rape of a 17-year-old girl who had been plied with drink, in the vicinity of the New Brighton Surf Club. The men are Parampreet Singh, 26, and Amritpal Singh, 23, who are friends but are not related. They were convicted in a five-day jury trial on December 4, 2015.
