Event Navigation

Jade Bayliss
Sentencing in the High Court for Jeremy George Edward McLaughlin, 35, for the murder of 13-year-old Jade Bayliss who was strangled to death before an arson at her family’s house in Barrington Street.
He was found guilty of murder and arson, and pleaded guilty to burglary, at a nine-day trial in April. Jade was the daughter of a woman who had previously been in a relationship with McLaughlin.
The sentencing was delayed from August 22, to give more time for a pre-sentence report to be completed.
