Jury Watch: Manslaughter verdicts in Bray Trial

This is how the day unfolded. The latest entry is at the top.

6.05pm: Jury returned with verdicts of not guilty of murder, but guilty of manslaughter against all six. Justice Cooper remanded them all in custody for sentence in Timaru on February 11.

2pm: The jury returned to the jury room to continue its deliberations.

1pm: The jury left the Court House to have lunch together, escorted by court staff.

11.45am: The jury retired for the third time. It had been recalled to court after discussion with counsel to hear further amplification and clarification from Justice Cooper, and then recalled again to be given a summary of a short section of evidence that had not been recorded because of a technical glitch. Justice Cooper sent them to the jury room at 11.45am with the words: "This time, it's for keeps."

11.05am: The summing up concluded and the jury retired to consider their verdicts.

9.30am: Justice Mark Cooper continued his summing up to the jury, which he began at 1.30pm on Monday.
