Shane Michael Woodcock is defending charges alleging dishonesty offending against some of Christchurch?s elderly residents.
The 41-year-old did not seek bail when he was remanded to a post-committal conference at an appearance in the Christchurch District Court today.
Defence counsel said Woodcock consented to the remand in custody on the charges of obtaining cash and cheques by deception, and demanding money with menaces with intent to steal it.
The post-committal conference on June 4 will announce whether the case is being sent for trial in front of a jury.
