Prosecutor goes for a skate

When court staff told the crown solicitors? office that a prosecutor was needed urgently for a verdict in a jury trial, they were told he had got his skates on.

And it was true.

In Christchurch it?s a one-block sprint from Raymond Donnelly and Co to the Court House on Durham Street.

With the jury returning in the two-day trial of a pair for a central city bashing and kidnapping, one of the crown prosecutors opted for a skateboard as his preferred mode of transport.

He arrived in good time, to be told by the Court House security staff that skateboards weren?t allowed inside.

They thought it might be best if he put the board out of sight beneath the crown?s bench in court while the verdicts were announced.
