Two men accused of being quake predators are to spend a further fortnight in jail on remand, after appearances at a Christchurch District Court session inside the men?s prison today.
Police say a security guard spotted them raiding a house in Robson Avenue, Avonside, and reported their actions to the police who found them nearby with a hot water cylinder in their vehicle.
Bail had already been refused at an earlier court sitting for Andrew Peter Campbell,?32, who was today remanded in custody to August 25 by Judge Jane Farish.
At the earlier hearing, Campbell was said to have come from Invercargill.
The judge also refused bail today for Lance Ivar, 28, and remanded him to August 22 so that the police could provide more details about their opposition to him being released.
Both men face a burglary charge. No pleas have been entered.
