A man who has admitted taking up-skirt photographs with his cellphone at a shopping mall has now added two more charges for his sentencing in December.
This time, Maurice Hemi Williams has admitted breaching a protection order and assaulting a woman.
The 27-year-old had planned to defend these charges at a hearing in the Ashburton Court House today, but the not guilty pleas were withdrawn just before the session.
Last month, he admitted a charge of making an intimate visual recording when he was spotted on the Northlands shopping centre security cameras taking up-skirt pictures of two women with his cellphone.
He has now been remanded in custody for sentencing on all charges at the Rangiora?Court House on December 8, after admitting the additional charges at a Christchurch District Court session inside the men?s prison today.
He is also for sentence after previous guilty pleas for breaching a protection order, and breaching a sentencing of community work.
Judge Raoul Neave noted that by the time of sentencing Williams would have served four-and-a-half months on remand in custody and decided to ask for a report on his suitability for home detention.
?There are no promises,? he explained to Williams. ?But options may have opened up because of the time served.?
