A teenager has admitted tagging more than 100 properties and other fixtures in the Aranui and Wainoni areas of Christchurch.
Tama Hoani Robinson, an 18-year-old factory hand, tagged houses, fences, light poles and other fixtures with ?dtek? using a variety of colours in paints and pens.
Most of the tags were in Aranui and Wainoni, but he had moved across suburbs as far as Ilam.
Robinson was charged with a representative charge of intentional damage.
His tags were on the Christchurch City Council graffiti register, and when police noticed new tags overnight in the Aranui area, and knew Robinson had been in the area with paint, they searched his address. There were tags on and inside the property which linked him to the tags.
At Christchurch District Court today, Judge Raoul Neave remanded Robinson on bail to December 5 for sentencing. He ordered a pre-sentence report and a reparation report which will look at the cost of repairing Robinson?s tagging.
