A 44-year-old man has been granted bail on charges of stupefying and indecently assaulting a 12-year-old girl.
Police did not oppose bail for Kirk Daniel Rutledge at his appearance in Christchurch District Court yesterday, when Judge Raoul Neave remanded him to appear at the Nga Hau e Wha marae court session on October 3.
He is charged with stupefying the girl ?wilfully and without lawful justification or excuse??on Tuesday?in Christchurch, and indecently assaulting her on the same day.
Judge Neave granted bail for Rutledge to live at an address in Avonside, abide by a night-time curfew, and not apply for travel documents. Rutledge told the court he did not have a passport. He is also barred from contacting the girl.
