Farmer accused of threats to kill PM

An Oxford farmer, All Means All, formerly known as Mark Feary, has been arrested on charges of threatening to kill Prime Minister John Key in a flurry of letters during July, August, and September.

All, aged 55, has been in a long-running dispute with the Commissioner of Crown Lands and has alleged that the government is corrupt.

He appeared before Judge Heather Simpson in a Christchurch District Court sitting at Nga Hau e Wha marae today, on seven charges relating to threats to the Prime Minister.

All represented himself for the court appearance and indicated the charges would be defended.

Judge Simpson remanded him on bail to a post-committal conference, and ordered that he not contact the Prime Minister or Parliament ? directly or indirectly ? as a condition of bail.

All, who lives at Burnt Hill, is charged with sending the threatening letters to the leader of the Maori Party, Tariana Turia, the chief reporter at The Press and the Taranaki Daily News, and several to the Prime Minister himself.
