Timothy Joseph Foley has been committed for trial in the High Court for the murder of a woman who died three weeks after an alleged attack in Linwood on June 9.
Foley, 52, and unemployed, had been remanded in custody to today for a post-committal conference.
He was arrested soon after the incident and held in custody on a charge of intentionally causing grievous bodily harm to 41-year-old Michelle Mary Lawrence.
Lawrence remained in hospital in critical condition but died on June 30.
After that, the charge against Foley was replaced with murder.
A judge has examined the prosecution briefs of evidence in the case and Foley has been sent to a High Court pre-trial conference on December 14 to set a date for his trial.
