Jury watch: Sila murder jury retires for second night

This is how the day unfolded, waiting for the jury to decide upon its verdicts, in the trial of Lipine Sila (latest entry at the top):

4.45pm: Justice Fogarty had the court crier inquire about progress and then called a halt to proceedings for the day, sending the jury to their hotel for the second night since their deliberations began.

2.10pm: The jury returned from lunch to resume its deliberations in the jury room.

1pm: The jury left the Court House with court staff, to have lunch at a restaurant nearby.

11.30am: The court resumed and the jury was given the answer to its question.

11am: The jury sent out a written question asking about how to treat the question of beyond reasonable doubt, relating?Lipine Sila's state of mind and his appreciation of the consequences of his driving, at the time he got into the car in Edgeware Road.

9am: After spending the night at a hotel, the jury returned to its deliberations in the jury room. It first retired to consider its verdicts at 10.45am on Wednesday.
