Court House-07Keri Martin Wakefield has now admitted he was the main offender in arson attacks that caused damage totalling $374,000.

Wakefield, 41, of Spreydon, had previously claimed someone else had been involved, but Public Defence Service Lawyer Kerryn Beaton said at his sentencing that he now accepted his role.

Christchurch District Court Judge Jane Farish sentenced Wakefield to four years seven months jail after he admitted three charges of burglary and two of arson.

His offending caused $200,000 damage to a home in Lyttelton Street and $174,000 damage to a property owned by the Spreydon Baptist Church, days before Christchurch 2012.
