Court House-Sept-2013-08Operations manager for Christchurch firm Alligator Drainage, Graham Daniel Lilley, has indicated not guilty pleas and elected jury trial for 16 charges he faces of causing a loss by deception.

Lilley told a Christchurch District Court registrar of his jury-trial choice today, and did not need to appear in court before a judge.

He has been charged with causing losses totalling $168,345 by deception, over allegations that customers were told that EQC would reimburse them without prior approval for extensive drainage work done by Alligator Drainage.

The charges allege offences were committed in Christchurch from August to October 2013, with amounts ranging from $1000 to $20,561.

The registrar remanded Lilley to a Crown case review hearing on August 18. He remains on bail.
